Welcome to Woodrow Wilson


        Family and friends,  my name is Angela Stockman and I am honored to be the principal of Woodrow Wilson Primary School.  We have received the Spotlight Award for the last three years.  This is due the dedication of the teaching staff, motivated students, and supportive parents. We focus on teaching and learning in a school climate that: respects each individual, loves kids, work with passion and pride to provide a world class education.  We are a Reading First school.  Teachers have received extensive training in the delivery of instruction in the area of reading, and student progress is monitored closely to determine the effectiveness of instruction.  The math curriculum offers a hands-on investigation which facilitates understanding of fundamental math concepts.  Please feel free to either call (672-6571) or stop in if you have a concern or an idea.

Parent Resource Library

A "Parent-Only" computer is located in the room across from the office. This computer is available to you for accessing educational assistance via the Internet. Availability is during school hours, except when meetings are in session.

A file cabinet is located outside the computer office (next to the trophy case). In this cabinet you will find materials that will benefit both you and your child. These materials are yours to "check-out" and return in a timely manner.

Come take a look at what we have designed just for you, our parents!
Some items available are thesauruses, dictionaries, numerous parenting books, games, and books.

Peoria Public Library Live Homework Help

Live Homework Help is FREE and online

Now your students can work one on one with a tutor from any Internet-connected computer as long as they have a Peoria Public Library card. The service is available seven days a week from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and offers help for students from Kindergarten through Adult Education. Students work with a live tutor using instant messaging, a white board and file uploads. Help is available in math, English, social studies and science and in English or Spanish. Tutors don’t provide answers, but they help students find answers so that they never have to come to school in the morning saying, “I didn’t get it.” Live Homework Help is available when teachers aren’t and is safe and free. All tutors are qualified, background checked and never exchange names or emails with students. Just log on to www.peoriapubliclibrary.org to try it with your Peoria Public Library card.

Uniform Policy

Woodrow Wilson uniforms consist of navy or khaki pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, or jumpers.  Shirts may be white, light blue, or navy with no other design on them.  Shirts must also have a collar.
